Over/under 15 homers on the year? I will put him at 22. Anybody else care to take a stab?

I'll guess 15. About right for him.

I'll put him at 15-20 so I'll take the over.

Not sure where this extra power is coming from but I like it.

Yeah okay... crazy It's my guess. He's had good streaks and never got past 13 since 2006. People thought he was gonna hit 20+ homeruns after that year but was hurt for sometime in the last two season.

He's 26 years old this year...an age when players often have a break out season. Of course, that usually correlates to a second or third full season. This will be Mauer's fifth full season. But I think we can expect a lot of those doubles he has hit in the past years to become home runs.

I think that - somewhat like Ichiro - he could hit a lot more home runs if he wanted to, but it would be at the expense of 20 to 30 points on his batting average.

20+ this year. At 6'5" and 230 lbs he should hit this year in and year out!!!

Guys, I dont think we are seeing a power surge. Have you seen his HRs? They BARELY got over the fence. Having said that, enjoy him for what he is. He is a high average hitter who gets on base, works the count and is overall the best or next to the best (Morny) hitter on the team and one of the best in the league. he may not hit for power and if he doesnt, I dont care.

So put a number on him for the year, if he focused on homers like some have said his BA would dip. Joe just wants to be the best hitter in the game. Just imagine him puffing his cheeks out at every fastball he sees wink

20-25 HRs and a AVG between .340-.350 with over 100 RBIs

okay, my number is 14 blasts, 80 ribbies, .325. He missed a month of the season and has never been a big RBI guy.

CodyDawg I like your numbers, maybe a couple more dingers IMO.

Martinez will give him a run for his money on the all-star ballots!! He'll hit in the .330 range and have 17 dingers and 85 rbi's!!

there were talking the other night about whether mauer will have enough plate appearances to qualify for the batting title. what if he hits .400, would they use the same plate appearances threshold for it to count?

he will have the plate appearances as long as he stays healthy..... and I will venture to guess he will end at .337 16hrs and 82 rbi........I feel I over estimated on all 3 except for maybe the average but I would love to see him finish around these numbers.......

    • Honestly I'd rather just face the Hawks whenever we get our shot, we are either good enough or we are not. This the first year we have been better than them for the entire season, I say bring em on. I don't want to trade anyone away right now, havingn a guy like Scandella on the bottom pair makes us that much better. Throw some picks at a rental and keep our depth, no reason to make any drastic moves. We should be warry of San Jose too, they have a very solid team and made the trip last year but everyone else should be beatable if we play like we can and don't run into a hot goalie.

Or that both sides are playing the public to enrich & empower themselves via a broken and corrupt system. Picking a side in this mess is playing the game by their rules. • Sounds like there is still some good snow up the Gunflint. I sent an email to Bearskin lodge about their web cam not working and got a reply.   "That's correct. The repaired webcam has broken again, unfortunately, so only the same picture gets sent.  It is fairly inaccessible because of deep snow, but someone will be going out soon to take it down so we can get it fixed again.  It will probably have to be put up in a new place, which will disappoint people who have been keeping running snaps of the photos to make video.   For what it's worth, it looks exactly the same now as it did when that picture was taken.  Winter tends to look the same everyday here."   Sue Bearskin Lodge   -----Original Message----- From: Steve A Sent: Thursday, February 23, 2017 11:10 AM To: stay@bearskin.com Subject: From the Bearskin Contact Form   From: Steve A Zip: 55429   Message Body: Whats up with your web cam? It's had the same picture for a month. There are a lot of us snowmobilers who watch your cam to know if there is any snow left up there and if we should come up sledding or not. Can you check to see if it's working?  Thanks.
    • Any combo of Dunn/Jones is not something you can build a contender around. Either could eventually become a decent backup; neither looks to be leadership/starter material. I would have no problem with trading Rubio for another PG, as long as it is the right dude.

Much like Rubio, Rose just isn't worth the salary he will command.
    • Anyone who took Brett Hite is a happy camper! Wayyyy too early yet to get too excited or too worried. Bobby Lane stuck an 8+, and his total weight is 17 and change, so he could vault up is he makes a couple of good culls.
