ec30_06
I think a few people in the 'kato area had a side bet on me getting the first one of the year. I'm glad I didn't disappoint anyone. I just wish I knew why they turtles are so fond of me. I can be in a boat with 4 other people using the same bait as them and still boat multiple turtles to everyone Else's zero. Same way with shovelnose.

Shack
That's why they call you Softshell Eddy I remember a couple years back you pulled a monster the size of a manhole cover. Have not seen anyone lick a turtle yet Who ever bet against you was a sucker
harvey lee
Way to go Ed. I knew you could keep that title. You may catch all of my turtles also.Go Softshell Eddy.
Ralph Wiggum
Have not seen anyone lick a turtle yet The only way I'm licking a turtle is if it's in my soup
SteveD
I got my first softshell last night. I kept getting these hard quick hits on a sucker head last night and I thought it might be turtles. I never did hook one but it was quite annoying. I kept automatically jumping for the rod thinking it was a fish. I suppose it is about that time of the spring for those critters to enter the picture too,
mrklean
haha good job on the turtle
phishnerd
I call that "Turtle Chi." I had a buddy who had turtle chi on the croix a few years back. Nothing like dragging in a garbage can lid with an attitude.
Slowhand
Nothing like the mid-summer blues; go out and get 1 bite and it ends up being a turtle . Good work Ed.
Gordie
if your lickin them turtles thats why you keep catching them they'll tell 2 turtles and them 2 will each tell 2 and so on and on you better hope that the turtles dont try and lick back. aanderud
Yeah, maybe instead of licking the turtles you should start biting them. They might not like you as much then.
ec30_06
Never licked a turtle. Maybe I'll start eating them to thin the population out.
aanderud
Ed don't you think you should add king of the turtles to your signature?

Slowhand
Wow Ed... you could wear that shell as a breastplate into battle.
MinnesnowtaWild
Was that softshell aggressive at all?
ec30_06
Most of the softshells don't have much of a temper problem. I had to deal with a rather angry snapping turtle while getting bullheads yesterday.
Here-Kitty-Kitty
Wow Ed... you could wear that shell as a breastplate into battle. Or as the name intales " soft " you could just make it into a popcorn bowl. I have this feeling a rusty butter knife would go through it. Just a thought lol
Surreal Deal
I'd like to hear any and all fishing-related snapping turtle stories!
Slowhand
A formed breastplate would look manly, and you'd be suprised what a coat of lacquer can withstand . Ahh fine..a popcorn bowl HKK; just think how the chicks would go gaga over it when you invite them over for movie night, also the mandatory butter dispenser would be less arduous to install. Here-Kitty-Kitty
I do like to lacquer the breastplate. Specially if it were to take a large shell to cover all. Come on just think what the chicks would say when I told them that its all natural and GREEN. Thats the new thing right?
Larry FlatCaster
I'd like to hear any and all fishing-related snapping turtle stories! Here is a Snapper Adventure. I wouldn't do this again. Or recommend doing it.
