Isolating depth finders from starting battery?

Recommended Posts

There was a thread a while back.

Turned out the starting battery didn't have enough CCA(cold cranking amps). When starting the outboard the electronics would turn off.

Other then that keep the starting battery fully charged, and connections clean.

I also had this problem and found a line filter/monitor made by hummingbird that solved my issues when starting. The filter was purchased locally for about $25. Sounds like the issues with lowrance is they shut off to protect from surges which apparently happens when starting the motor.
