Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

Recommended Posts

today while crappie fishin i caught a 29.5 incher (7-8lbs?) on tonka. 4 lb test with my ultralight Gloomis G2. whooo was it a battle, around 10-15 minutes, much of which i couldnt even move the fish. i think i might do some pike fishin on opener lol...and i was by myself(thank God i brought a net in case), netted it with the rod in the other hand, wish i had brought the camera

Sounds like a nice pike. There is nothing wrong with targeting pike on opener, usually a lot more action than those pesky walleyes!!!

I know I'll be on a couple of my fav pike lakes on opener. I'm not much of a walleye guy and it gives me a good excuse to cast for something. Just gotta figure out the toothy critters are gonna be hiding on Saturday. Usually isn't tough to find em on certain lakes.

Yeah, why box yourself in on one species? I'm a walleye guy on those few days a year when I hit them well. I'm often a pike guy too. More action and it gets my blood pumping when you get those big toothies.

Sounds like a similar situation I found myself in last Monday. I actually had my camera with me... and I always bring my net just in case something like this happens. 27" Pike on 5' St. Croix Premier UL with 2 lb. line:

...sorry about the strange face!

I was surprised to actually bring it to the boat with that puny noodle of a rod. In a few hours, that rod would become a 4'6". For some reason, the rod wouldn't hold up to a muskie hitting on a different 20" pike I had hooked... should of seen my face after that!

    • Thanks. I decided to go with my gut, and ordered medium light action 8'6" Depthmaster rods. Spent some time trolling with them the other day, and I think they'll be fine. Just gotta remember to be careful with the larger fish around the boat when netting. Now if I could just better understand seasonal locations/presentations for my local walleye, I'd be all set! Trolled for 4.5 hrs without so much as a nibble yesterday. Trolled various cranks and harnesses the entire time, at different depths/speeds (1.0-1.5 mph with harnesses, and 1.8 -2.4 with cranks), hoping to make contact with one. I did find the Precission Trolling app to be pretty darn accurate with my dive curves though. So that was refreshing ... :-)
    • Nice bird! After my uneventful day Sat I gave Sunday a break Going out Monday morning to see If I can tag one.
    • Just me, or is 7:15 odd for birds to fly up to roost? 2 just flew up 75 yds out.
    • Congrats Donbo. Great looking bird.
    • Way to go Ryan, and Dad. Can't wait to see the pics. Congrats
    • Well good weekend in the woods! Never got a bird in range! Will be back out! Nice Donbo!!!
    • Good job Wally, always love to see your early season successes.  Nice bird AS!  Long season ahead with no tag in the pocket huh?
    • Good job guys! Great start to the season.
    • Totally agree with you featherslayer. I have a bud who will be down May 2. Just as much fun calling for him and figuring strategy as shooting one myself. More fun actually.
    • Very disappointing season so far. Getting swept by Tampa Bay is unacceptable! No reason to believe we won’t get swept by the Yankees either. 4 game series against the twins could be exactly what Giancarlo Stanton needs to break out of his slump.
