fishn
I'm having issues with my motor when I get to the lake. It'll start, idle for 2-3 seconds and bog out and die. I have to give it enough gas to keep the motor running. After the initial run it fires up right away. Not sure what the problem is any ideas? boatfixer
What horsepower and is it carbed or fuel injected?

boatfixer
I'd start with the basics.Do you pump the bulb all the way? Is it firm and can you feel the gas moving through it?Does the cold start primer seem to work fine?Spark, fuel, and compression.Spark on all cylinders? Have you changed plugs?Check all fuel lines for any leaks, primer bulb, etc.Sync the carbs. If everything seems to be fine, I'd be willing to bet the idle mixture is a little too lean when its cold.
