  1. Wheelhouse "caulk" question

I'm the same way as I never leave the house on the house unless I'm in it. Was just thinking about it because I like the look of the black diamond plate but thought that could be an issue.
  2. Wheelhouse "caulk" question

How does the black diamond plate work with melting your banking? I'd have to think you get a pretty good melt. Do you have to rebank nightly?
  3. Another help me chose an auger thread... SO frustrated

Best auger option...light weight, no mix, not battery...looking for a back up/hole hopper to tag with my pro 4. Cut roughly 60 holes Saturday...no thanks.
  4. How's the ice out there? We are hoping to come out Friday morning and give it a try. Did the last week snow fall hurt in getting around the lake?
  5. Satellite Differences

Tailgater VS Carryout G2 So I bought the carryout g2 and borrowed someone's dish box for the weekend. They have the tailgater. Will I have to mess with the settings or can I just plug it in and follow on screen commands. I don't want to mess up the receiver for the guy I'm borrowing it from where it won't work for him either...
  6. Holes re-freezing in wheelhouse

If you are just using your house for a couple of days and not setting it in a pool of water I would suggest always putting on the ice. My floor is insulated but I've never had any issues with freeze on top (not sure there is much to do about shrinking holes other than moving air), but I always move my house within 2 days of setting it down...the 4x4s would make it impossible to get a good bank until the snow picks up I would think. ..
  7. Vucube Dish Mounting

So I bought the carryout g2 and borrowed someone's dish box for the weekend. They have the tailgater. Will I have to mess with the settings or can I just plug it in and follow on screen commands. I don't want to mess up the receiver for the guy I'm borrowing it from where it won't work for him either...
  8. Satellite in Fish House

I currently have directv at home and was hoping to get an automatic satellite dish like the VuCube or the tailgater for my ice house. Does directv offer HD through these auto dishes or do I need to go Dish Network and find a buddy that has an account? What's the best automatic satellite unit? I thought I saw a forum that said the tailgater had some issues after a few years... Also, some of the options for the automatic dishes come with a receiver. What does dish network charge to activate a receiver you own on an existing account?
  9. Thermostat in wheel house

Lip_ripper - I use the range as well if needed. The only time I shut my heater off is when it is parked in my heated shed. I usually have it on a low setting for travel.
  10. Thermostat in wheel house

I usually leave the heat on low when it leaves the shed in the house, but there have been times when the stat has came loose from the wall (set screw issue) and then I just put it in the truck to warm up. Usually by the time I get it from the truck and fire up the heater it's caught up enough to stay on. That or set up the backup heater under the t-stat to keep it warm enough until it catches up. I think I am going to look into getting the hunter t-stat.
  11. exterior lights suggestion

I have 3 exterior lights on the house. Two under the wheel wells and 1 at the entrance door. 2 of the 3 are having troubles in the switches. I want to replace them all. What sort of suggestions/products do you think I should look into. The wheel wells aren't that important, but I'd like a real good light for the porch/door. I'm pretty sure the current lights are 12 volt.
  12. True North Fish House

I've had no trouble with my house and a solid axle wheeler. Granted I wouldn't try it down the access as I would just drive the truck to the ice on the shore and release it there. I'm not interested in being the first guy out so there is at least 12" of ice before I venture out with my house. I'm comfortable with the 3/4 ton on the shore with 12" just don't care to have it else where on the lake...
  13. WHEEL HOUSE WHEEL HOLE COVER

Does this help, better than banking? I am able to remove my strap assembly completely so it doesn't freeze up and just don't see how the fabric would keep the wind down where there is no buttons...
  14. Navionics app for Android/iphone - ice fishing GPS

Thanks Hollywood_pete. I actually was able to download it last night. Never came up the first 3 days. I had already purchased in the past and the Playstore recognized it. Guessing it was just an update or some glitch. Ready to go now. Ice on the ponds this morning!
  15. Mn fishhouse shelter license

Are wheel houses considered portable? What exactly do you need if you never leave your house unattended on the ice?
