Thanks, roony, and to all you guys. I do appreciate it. Hard to let something go because you have to, not because you want to. At least I can say I owned a nice one and I had a lot of fun times with it, better than not experiencing that at all.

Whew! Day off from the office pest so I can actually get something done! Chores done, smurfy's string beans weeded, kindly neighbor's pasture fence sprayed and my morning observational gawking completed. Time for a trip to FF methinks to recharge my male batteries. Ruby is out of food, sunflower seed is on sale and after borrowing a cup of 2,4-D from the kindly neighbor, need to purchase some to replace it. Mrs. Cheviot is off to a wine and beer tasting deal at the fair. I'd better rest up so I can perform evasive maneuvers. I haven't used the headache excuse in a while so always have that as a backup.

I believe you guys need to make at least four or five varieties, then I will zoom up and give each one a Reb-approved taste test.

Being the brilliant engineer he is, I could even envision him coming up with a set of sea legs for it. He could make a mint on those.

I have come to the conclusion that deer flies are possessed by Satan. Why are these horrible creatures in existence?

I have a place in Kerrick in Nemadji forest that we deer hunt at, we have never hunted bears but have seen quite a few big boys on trail cam over the years so we put in this year, no points, didn't draw any tags. Will try again next year, I want to at least get 1 bear, but then again I may get bit by the "bug" and I'll become an addict like Boar?

Moonshine sorry it has taken so long…Hope your beans are still coming in. If so here goes: Dilly Beans Bring sauce consisting of 4 cups water, 4 cups vinegar, 2 tbsp canning salt to a boil. Fill pints with raw beans, garlic gloves to taste, fresh dell sprigs to taste and cover with sauce. Process 10 minutes in hot water bath. Tomato Sauce In large pot mix 8-10 lbs tomatoes (I prefer a mix of all types), fresh basil to taste, fresh oregano to taste, onions to taste, fresh hot peppers to taste, 1/4 cup white vinegar, 2 tbsp canning salt. Heat contents to simmer while stirring to keep veggies from burning. Once everything is soft and relatively liquid, puree content with hand blender. Continue to simmer until desired consistency is reached (I usually allow 1-2 hours for this stage). Process in hot water bath for 30 minutes.

This. Each gun will shoot loads differently. Many guys don't think of or think its important to pattern a shotgun because "I have a big pattern". Well, I have seen it first hand that some guns shoot low, some high, some left or right. It makes a huge difference when wondering why you are missing or crippling birds. Different loads and swapping choke tubes also make a huge difference. I like the Federal Prairie Storm loads #5 for lead. Steel I shoot #3 Federal. Ive had better luck with 2-3/4" steel than 3" for some reason. Tend to miss more birds with 3". No idea why.
