Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

  3. Wild Offseason 2017

There is no way Koivu doesn't get more term and $$ in free agency, not a lot more but he gets more. Marleau is trending down and got more money, Hansel got 750 less and is not in the same league as Koivu. I was hoping for something like 4.5 or 5 but what he got at 2 years is very reasonable. He is a lifelong wild, our captain and a great player, we have no immediate replacement, he makes our team better for the next 3 years be it 1/2/3 center. This isn't something to get upset about, scandella trade sure, aging parise sure but that had to be done, not getting a young center sure but that can sometimes be out of our control because it takes two teams to trade. I get it people are bitter about last year but what fan base isn't bitter about this or that?
  4. Wiring Wheel House

I ran 10 gauge wire from my shore or generator feeder to my converter. Way over kill for a 2000 watt generator but if you ever take it camping or run it off a 3k in the summer it's nice to be wired for the extra wattage. 10 feet of 10 gauge really isn't that much money on the whole project... nice thing about running your inverter directly from the battery and splitting a couple outlets is they are always ready to go. Just hit the switch on the inverter and you don't have to mess with unplugging and plugging in strings of 110 outlets. Behind my tv the bottom outlet runs of the Genny and the top runs of the inverter. Nice thing is if I ever wanted to run the whole 110 system off the inverter I can just run a 6 inch cord with a male plug on each end out the top outlet and into the bottom and power the whole house.
  5. Wiring Wheel House

This looks like it will work to me. I had thought of doing something similar when I was thinking of going with the inverter, seperate 12v fuse block and onboard charger. Would have wired a "hot" outlet direct from generator. Then ran a piece of romex with a male plug wired onto it and tied the 110v into that. then I could have either plugged that into the "hot" outlet along with the onboard charger, when the generator was running. Or I could have plugged it into the inverter when needing to run off battery power.

never been there, have to go!!! off 10 right??? or where?? thanks!!
  7. Wiring Wheel House

Thanks everyone for the replies. I am planning to go with the ac/dc distribution panel with built in converter and charger. Then adding an automatic transfer switch, and an inverter. I m going to bring the exterior generator outlet directly into a gfci outlet box. Then wiring the transfer switch as follows... To the NO(normally open) terminals I will wire either a piece of 14ga romex with a male plug wired on the other end, or just get a cord of the correct size with the plug on it, which will plug into the "hot" gfci outlet being fed by the generator. I will do the same at the NC(normally closed) terminals, which can be plugged into the inverter. Then from the transfer switch output I will wire a piece of romex with a female plug, or correct size cord with same. From the main terminals on the 110v side of the distribution panel I will wire of piece of romex or cord with a male plug on it. That can then be plugged into the female plug coming out of the transfer switch. I figure wiring it that way gives me the option of bypassing the transfer switch and plugging the distribution panel directly into the "hot" gfci outlet from the generator if the transfer switch should fail. The transfer switch should feed the output from the NO terminals as long as they have power to them. If they lose power, i.e. turning the generator off, then the NO terminal close and it switches the NC terminals open and feeds the output from those, which would be the inverter in this case. I had been told by one of the places that sells fish house materials that I couldn't wire an inverter in with one of their WFCO panels. I knew there was a way so I thank you guys for making me think about it a little more. I think this set up will give me exactly what I'm looking for. I plan on running a Honda 2000W generator, and then two 31 series AGM batteries wired in paralell. Will run the generator during the day when convenient, but also want the ability to "run and gun" more when conditions allow without needing to set up the generator every time just to power a couple small AC items. Anyone have any experience with the automatic transfer switches? Go Power brand seems to have good reviews. Same with distribution panels. 2 I see the most are the WFCO and the Progressive Dynamics. YettiStyle, what is it that you prefer about the Progressive Dynamics panel? Better quality? Easier connections? etc... Thanks again to everyone!

Yes, if he's coming back on his own don't screw with adding something new he's not use too.
  10. And they are looking for bigger forage to bulk up going into the winter.

    Great hunt!

I am doing my first honey burn Thursday night, any advice. I checked my bait today and the the bear is back.
  13. Direct to Dish

Between these two companies the grass is always greener on the other side. I found that once your original contract is up with Direct TV you just need to call in yearly to get the "12 month promotion" which brings your package down to where it should be. Every September I call to get my 1yr "promotion" which is worth $40 a month off the bill. Last year I got the $40 a month off and the NFL ticket. This year they wouldn't give me the NFL ticket, but with the $40 off it is priced right at the levels Dish would be at for a new customer. The only complaint I have with Direct TV is that I went out and bought a King tailgater for direct tv, and then bought a cheap direct tv box off of the Internet for $50. When I had it connected over the phone they guy tried telling me that when I discontinued my service I'd have to send the box in......hey wait a min....I bought and own this I ain't sending dump back to you I OWN it.
  14. Really great colors there now and butterflies by the thousands. get there if you can. Headed over for 2 hours today. Heres a few pics. Pics from Munsinger
  15. Plus+1 last weekend got into a good bite in about 31-35 feet and they were all full of Minnows.
  16. @Tom Sawyer Any idea what this is with the painted lady? Only saw this one at Munsinger. Really a beauty.

  18. Wild Offseason 2017

Interesting take via Judd Sulgad on the Koivu Signing: Perhaps most galling about all of this is Michael Russo of The Athletic tweets there is a no-move clause in Koivu’s extension. Why on earth would Fletcher agree to include a no-move clause in an aging player’s contract? It’s bad enough when you give a no-move clause to a productive player who suddenly hits the cliff but in Koivu’s case there was no reason to do this. Heck, there was no reason to give him any type of extension in the first place. He also was entering the final season of a seven-year, $47.25 million contract that will pay him $5.4 million in 2017-18. Allowing Koivu to play out that contract made perfect sense. If he had productive 2017-18, he might be brought back but there also was the potential that his money could have been used on a younger, more attractive talent. Koivu is coming off a productive 2016-17 season in part because he was able to move from first- to second-line center playing behind 32-year-old Eric Staal. Koivu had 18 goals and 58 points and was a plus-27 in 80 games, spending much of the season with Mikael Granlund and Jason Zucker on his wings. Like many Wild players, Koivu didn’t do much in the Wild’s five-game first-round playoff loss to the Blues. He had one goal, one assist and was a minus-1. All of this set up Koivu with the opportunity to return this season and prove he could remain a productive and durable player. When it came to Koivu’s contract, the Wild finally was in an ideal spot. That is no longer the case. Instead, the Wild has Koivu locked up for three more years and, thus, put themselves right back in the type of salary-cap situation they should be trying to escape.
  19. Wiring Wheel House

Thats the way I ran mine. One run of AC comes from the converter, and one run terminates in a male plug that goes into my inverter. That outlet run is dead unless I am running it off my inverter but I just split the couple outlets I would need behind the TV and one other spot and it seems to be working flawlessly so far. I can watch Dish TV without firing up the genny if I want. Only time I would really do this is during a hot bite to minimize noise. Outside of that, just let er run.
  20. Wild Offseason 2017

I guess we'll see in 8/9 months if he's worth $6 Million.....my point is they could have waited and resigned him in the off season for less...he never would have gotten that elsewhere...never...just leaving money on the table that could be spent more wisely elsewhere IMO. Surpirsed he hasn't extended Parise/Suter for another 5 yrs at $9M/yr beyond the 10 he already signed them for
  21. I'm guessing that worms and crawlers wash into water systems after storms. So they are not totally foreign to being found in the water. Deep mudflats? Doubt it. But I do target storm sewer outlets on lakes shortly after rainfall with some success using natural colored rubber worms for bass. And have caught an occasional walleye while doing so.
  22. What are the bass doin these days?

Just relaxing and bobber fishing with the Mrs while camping up north 10 days ago, had decent sized suckers on. Had 8 suckers left for the evening bite. Found where some smallies seemed to be stacked. Two 18"ers, two 19"ers and what looked to be a 20" smallmouth that got off boat side. A 23" walleye decided to get in on the fun, had a snip off and lost a fish in the weeds 25' feet down. Those were some productive minners. Bringing more next year. A nice double and my wife's new personal best bass. 19"
  23. its same reason to cast frogs shallow back towards the shore late fall like they are jumping in the water. those walleyes know come fall thats what frogs do and are waiting to ambush them and makes for some great fishing.
  24. Wild Offseason 2017

I agree. Koivu is worth it, I was hoping for less, but there are so many haters that look past his stats to really see where his value is. Didn't he just lead the league in +/- last year? mid 50% faceoff win %, very prominent on penalty kill, etc. I love the Cullen signing, but he isn't the same player Koivu is. I was vocally negative on Koivu 3 years ago, but since then he has strung together 2 very good seasons. Apparently he listened. :-)
  25. I've never really understood what sort of forage that nightcrawler is supposed to emulate anyway. Maybe there is some sort of wor doing it's thing in the muck at the bottom of the lake, but it's not a nightcrawler
  26. I think it is just a seasonal forage thing. All the yough of the year minnows/fish are probably reaching the preferred size for walleye, as well as they (minnows), are leaving the shallow nursery areas and are now more vulnerable. Minnows are probably more readily available and preferred this time of year naturally.
