Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

  2. Uggh, Lug nuts

It may be that they knew the folks up there needed a little extra help because they couldn't get the Righty tighty-Lefty loosey deal down. So, they had to make special trucks just for the Yukon Territory?
  3. Uggh, Lug nuts

Couple things to keep in mind. Various wheels will require varying torque settings and it should be ON the wheel, or in the owners manual. If you are in a shop make a point of TELLING them what torque settings you want used on your tires/wheels. And of course big difference if you have steel or cast aluminum wheels. Years back, believe it or no, some Dodge trucks would tighten turning LEFT and then on the other side they would tighten turning RIGHT! You need not ask me how I know this but it all took place in the middle of the Yukon Territory.

    So am I.

  6. Snowmobilers come check out the only strip club on the iron range !!

  7. Uggh, Lug nuts

That's what I had to do to get the tire off. Not the type of thing you're likely to have handy when you get a flat away from home.
  8. Uggh, Lug nuts

A trick my grandfather taught me was using a long tube. Usually a 2-4ft long peice of pipe. He never had an impact so this was as close as having one. Take a big socket wrench then slide the wrench in the pipe and the pipe acts as leverage and I have a peice of pipe hanging in my garage right now just for this reason and I have NEVER not been able to break something free with this method. A little tip I wanted to share.
  9. New kind of "bird" at my feeder

those things are poorly equipped to deal with a MN winter.
  10. New kind of "bird" at my feeder

I have them periodically. They look like the world's biggest rat. And they poop all over my low platform feeder.
  11. Uggh, Lug nuts

Long standing problem. I recall breaking a 3/4 craftsman socket trying to get a tire off a 68 vw in the 70's. I don't know if retorqueing them upon returning from the tire shop is good enough or not.
  12. Question for Y’all

Thanks guys, it would all be during day light and only a couple miles the rest in the ditch. Good idea wanderer on the reflectors. No damage would be done so I think it would be alright.
  13. Question for Y’all

If the sled is not doing any damage to the groomed trail (which I can't imagine it would) and if you are towing it in a safe matter, I doubt that anybody would even care.
  14. Uggh, Lug nuts

Um, isn't that the reason for using a Torque stick so that the lugs are Not "over torqued" just by the wrench?
  15. Question for Y’all

Pretty sure not many folks would get up to Oak Inland Ice fishing on Lake of the Woods without pulling their porty sleds on the snowmobile trail that runs up there if it was an issue.
  16. Question for Y’all

Rigid hitch and reflectors on the back of the house and you should be good to go.
  17. Question for Y’all

    That’s very true
  18. Question for Y’all

It wouldn't be any different than pulling a cat cutter or something similar...
  19. Uggh, Lug nuts

I have heard as far on trailers every year the lugs should be removed and greased with some sort of oil or anti seize to prevent rust or seizeing of lugs. This could be the issue or there just torqued on good.
  20. Question for Y’all

Hey guys, I have many small lakes within a few miles of home and I’m right on the groomed trail and was always curious if it’s leagal to tow my flip over/ large otter sled behind my snowmobile on the trails to the lakes. I’ve looked around and can’t find an awsner I could have swore years ago it was ok as long as it was towed wth some sort of a solid tow hitch which I have on both. Do does anyone know it this is legal or not planning on trying out a small lake this weekend and would rather ride there then drive.
  21. Uggh, Lug nuts

Might want to have a talk with that tire shop, and have them properly reinstall all the other lug nuts before you have to. Plus, if any break they can fix them now. If any brake pulsation occurred after overtightening, that's one more thing to talk about. I also worry about stress factors on the studs. Once a bolt is stretched, it's done. About the only way to check for that is to get an OE stud and compare lengths. Cheater bar force likely means they were at least 3-4 times overtightened, maybe more. But, if you have uncapped nuts on an uncapped wheel allowing corrosion, it's on you. Torque sticks are better than nothing but really should only be used to snug them down, then finish with a torque wrench.
  22. Uggh, Lug nuts

They should use a Torque stick when putting them on, but none do. Does she have the craapy lugs with the "Tin foil" cap over the nut? I love how those round off. I replaced all the Tin foil lug nuts on my SUV and snowmobile trailer with solid SS lug nuts. They cost more but, I hope to not be sitting half in half out of a snow cover ditch in the middle of no where trying to get striped lugs off!
  23. Uggh, Lug nuts

    Aluminum or steel wheel?
  24. Wild Regular Season 2017-18

Nice of the Blues to go 4-5-1 in their last ten, they only have 1 point on us but we have two games in game.
  25. Another new Invasive

It's a red shrimp. Found one in St. Louis river. International shipping hauls this dump over here and then they harass the citizens about spreading it and cleaning it up.
  26. Another new Invasive

My wife didnt relinquish the remote so I wasnt able rewind and get the full article but it was similar to the spiny water flee
