I HATE deerflies!!!!! Here is what I did today while spraying the trees. I strapped a few solo cups to my hat and attached i window fly strip to each cup. After an hour I didn't think the flies where to bad until I took off my hat and had a look at my catch. I would see a fly as it zipped passed my face and that would be it . I didn't get bit one time and I didn't use any bug spray. Purple was the winner.

Necessity is the mother of invention. That is the coolest bug defense I have ever seen!

Actually there is away to use this for ankle biters on the boat. I take the cardboard tube from a paper towel roll and paint them yellow, then wrap a fly strip around them. I then slide the tube over my boat seat pedestal, I am lucky enough that it fits perfectly. When I am done fishing for the day the whole mess just slides off and goes in the garbage. I got the idea using the yellow boards in the green house that we use for bug control. I might have to try some purple ones though. Total cost is about a quarter.

In order fish all day, you have to start in the morning!

Great idea! Trying to put tree stands in trees is tough to do with the deer flies buzzing your head! Got to get some of those strips!

I am totally going to do this in the boat next summer. I hate those things.
